The Alley Pond Striders, Inc. is a community-based club consisting of runners, joggers and walkers. Summer hours have begun, so we meet Saturday and Sunday mornings (smaller groups also meet weekdays) at 8:30 am at the Alley Pond Park Field House located on Winchester Boulevard north of Union Turnpike.
Track workouts have begun for the year. Every Tuesday evening, 6pm, at the Queensborough College track.

With the cooperation of the Department of Parks and Recreation, City of New York, Mayor Michael Bloomberg
Eligibility: Five kilometer (5k) cross country race is open to Runners, Joggers and Walkers 13 years old and over. Children’s Fun Run is open to all kids 12 and under.
Course: A challenging and hilly 5k (3.1 mile) race through beautiful ’back alley’ of Alley Pond Park. The course is accurately measured. Lavatory and Dressing facilities available. Children’s Fun Run will be a short course around the upper park area (it will NOT enter the woods).
Registration: Day of Race Registration ONLY will be held at the Alley Pond Park Springfield Blvd and 76th Avenue park area from 7:30 to 8:45 AM.

Children’s Fun Run: $3

THIS IS A NO FRILLS RACE! There are NO teeshirts, there are no grand prizes, but there is the challenge of Alley Pond Park! Will you dare to accept the challenge?!
REGISTRATION CLOSES at 9:15 AM for the 5k event.
Awards:
FIRST THREE OVERALL FINISHERS, male and female receive a medal.
FIRST 3 AGE GROUP FINISHERS, male and female receive a medal.
Age Groups
13 - 19 then every 10 years to 80 and over.
